Vanilla Bakehouse in Al Riffa wanted to refresh its exterior to better reflect its brand identity. The client’s main concerns were excessive sunlight making the shop hot and uncomfortable for customers, and the existing façade not aligning with Vanilla’s calm and inviting personality. Another key challenge was that Vanilla is an operating business with loyal customers, so the redesign had to respect and maintain the aspects of the brand that customers already loved. The goal was to create a welcoming, comfortable, and visually appealing space that addresses these challenges while preserving the bakery’s identity.

We designed a façade that harmonizes aesthetics with comfort while directly addressing the client’s concerns. Parisian-style umbrellas provide gentle shade, and double-glazed glass helps regulate heat. To further mitigate sunlight while enhancing the visual appeal, we introduced perforated wooden partitions sandwiched between the glass layers—an inventive, technical solution that balances functionality with creativity. The signboard was designed to stand out subtly without overwhelming the surroundings, and playful details like the croissant-shaped door knob reinforce the brand’s identity while creating an inviting, memorable impression.
