Challo in Khobar, KSA, is a vibrant burger shop created for clients who wanted a bold, playful brand inspired by Majid Magazine comics—a nostalgic reference beloved by the eighties and nineties generation. The goal was to develop a unique identity that would stand out, appeal to families and young audiences, and create a memorable experience both visually and experientially.
We collaborated closely with the client to craft a unique visual language that reflects the playful, energetic spirit of the restaurant. Drawing inspiration from Majid Magazine, we designed original characters and a “CREW” to shape the branding. Packaging, typography, and illustrations were all tailored to echo the comic-style aesthetic while maintaining clarity and functionality for everyday use.
We also developed customized interactive packaging—for example, the burger sleeve and cover. The sleeve features the face of a character, while the cover serves as the hat. When the sleeve is closed, it looks like the character is wearing the hat, creating a playful and engaging experience for the customer. The characters were also integrated into the interior design, giving the space a cohesive and immersive identity.
The client was extremely satisfied with the result. The characters became a central element in the interior design, and customers loved the branding, taking plenty of photos—especially of the creative packaging. The design successfully drew people in: they initially came for the visuals and ended up falling in love with the food. Challo now enjoys a bold, playful, and highly engaging brand identity that resonates with its audience.
